About this Garden Plan

These plants will be planted in triangles not long straight rows. Garden A on the west side consists of four 48"long x 36"tall x 18" wide planters. The 2 outer planters mirror each other with taller plants, and the 2 inner planters mirror each other with shorter plants. Planters 1 and 4 contain English daisies and snapdragons as they are taller flowers. Also nasturtium flowers to flow over the edge, kale, Swiss chard, and i'itoi onions. Planters 2 and 3 contain upright dianthus flowers, and petunias flowing over. Carrots, beets, lettuce. There is an existing dwarf lemon tree on the south side of Bed A that we already planted. Bed B on the north side has rosemary, lavender, three obelisk trellises with tomatoes; pumpkins strawberries, mint, violas and violets in purple and yellow. Bed C on the west side beside the building wall: We will plant a dwarf lime tree at the S end of the bed. Two Barbados Cherry bushes will be planted, one between each window on the adjacent building. Also i'itoi onions (friendship green onions that multiply from our neighbors the Tohono O'odham), cabbage, brocolli, cilantro, and several types of basil such as cinnamon, Holy Red, Mrs. Burns Lemon, and Sweet Thai. Everything in every bed is edible, of course! We are going to show the employees how to plant the seeds and transplants. We will provide plant markers they can write the names of the plants on so everyone will know what is growing. Employees can harvest something fresh for their lunch or to take home to use later. This will be the first planting done, planned around Oct. 1, 2018. Most of these fall cold season garden plants will be changed out in the spring for warm season plants, including some that can survive the summer heat! Some of the plants will remain year around such as the lavender, rosemary, and basil. We look forward to gardening with you! Justin Rohner and Kelly Athena Agriscaping

Plan Notes

The total square footage of garden space in the 2 beds and 4 planters is 132 sq. feet. This is for a corporate headquarters outdoor break/lunch room with chairs, tables, and umbrellas in the middle and surrounded by edible plants. I am thinking we could plant it somewhat close to let them harvest greens and brassica as micro or small greens instead of waiting until they grow into a full head. This would be more fun than waiting a long time for one big plant. We'll teach them to cut off the leaves an inch above ground whenever they want some greens for their sandwich.
